East of England dojos first regional course

The east of England dojos joined together to host their first regional course to a fantastic attendance and brilliant topics covered by our instructors.

On the 22nd October 2023 dojos from Manningtree (Nintai), Bishop’s Stortford (Kokoro), Dunmow, Saffron Walden, Hastings & Bexhill and Biggleswade joined forces to train together.

The 3-hour course saw instructors each take the full class for a period to work on different focal areas. The instructors then broke the class into groups to give more individual attention to specific areas. Each instructor moved around so each group spent time with a different instructor. This helped expose students to different ideas and training styles while helping unify areas of debate.

The course not only taught us a lot about our training but also helped unify us as a region. Many people we only see annually at Summer Camp but now we will get together more regularly to strengthen our unity as a group of karateka. I can highly recommend each region consider organising a get-together to do so.

Here’s to the next one planned for early in the new year! Osu!

Huge thanks to Shihan Liam Keaveney, Shihan Andrew Turner, Sensei Savio Santimano, Sensei Ismail Yildirim, Sensei Marios Petrou and Senpai James Miles for organising and instructing the event.
